Concrete Bags versus Ready-Mix Quote Comparison

Compare checked concrete volume with exact bag yields, measured mixing rates and actual truck minimums, increments, fees and optional valued time.

What this worksheet covers

Compare the same measured volume using exact bag yield and actual dated truck minimums, increments, delivery, short-load and placement charges. Show trial mixing effort and optional valued time separately.

User-entered local quotes only. Unknown charges need confirmation; enter zero only when confirmed. This decision sheet does not certify mixing or placement feasibility.

Import a saved measurement

Select a source, then an existing field with the same measurement unit. Add region or station rows first when needed. Confirm physical meaning and datum; importing a number does not approve a design or replace the rest of the required measurements.

Dated bagged-concrete scenario
Bag product yield / quote source

Enter the exact applicable document and what you checked. Confirmation records your check; MaterialNest does not authenticate or approve the document.

Dated ready-mix scenario
Selected mix and supplier quote source

Enter the exact applicable document and what you checked. Confirmation records your check; MaterialNest does not authenticate or approve the document.

Measured volume sensitivity alternatives

Edit actual alternative volumes; the table exposes order thresholds and costs without claiming a universal break-even.

Enter the measured layout and selected product information, then calculate. Exact schedules and a drawing appear here.

Compare actual complete purchasing scenarios

Start with required volume before reserve from a checked slab project or post-hole takeoff. Add your reserve once. Obtain exact bag yield and weight, supplier minimums and order increments, delivery and short-load terms, rental and placement charges, and applicable material tax treatment. A blank charge is unresolved; a confirmed zero is an explicit quote entry.

At the worked example’s invented 0.6 ft³ per bag, 34⅔ ft³ plus 5% reserve rounds to 61 bags. An invented 2 yd³ truck minimum instead purchases 54 ft³. Comparing a bag unit price with a truck unit price would hide those different surpluses and fees. The itemized table exposes them.

Keep measured effort separate from cash cost

Record your actual or trial-batch mixing rate as a range of bags per hour. The worksheet reports its time range and optional time valuation separately from financial charges. Editable alternative volumes show whole-bag and delivery thresholds under those same entered quotes. No universal break-even price, market rate or placement recommendation is assumed.

QUIKRETE’s exact-product data-sheet directory helps locate yield information. The chosen product’s operating instructions and the supplier’s service/access requirements remain separate checks; mixing-time arithmetic cannot certify placing feasibility or prevent cold joints.
