What this worksheet covers
Schedule measured joint groups using the selected label's depth/profile or exact per-group cartridge coverage, then reconcile reserve, whole cartridges and explicitly selected backer-rod packs.
Quantity planning for an already selected product/application. No crack diagnosis, joint design, structural repair selection or claim that sealing restores strength. Out-of-label dimensional groups hold purchasing.
Import a saved measurement
Select a source, then an existing field with the same measurement unit. Add region or station rows first when needed. Confirm physical meaning and datum; importing a number does not approve a design or replace the rest of the required measurements.
Enter the measured layout and selected product information, then calculate. Exact schedules and a drawing appear here.
A measured group needs its own application record
Separate groups with different widths, product-prescribed depths or documented coverage. A rectangular modeled section uses length × width × depth; a different section factor needs exact source support. When a label gives usable cartridge coverage for the recorded group dimensions, select that coverage basis instead. The schedule shows both modeled volume and the selected purchasing basis.
For a geometric worked case, 20 ft × ½ in × ¼ in is approximately 491.6 mL before reserve. Cartridge contents, usable yield, application profile and rod selection still come from the exact instructions. The loaded example intentionally uses fictitious product values.
Resolve dimensional holds before ordering
The planner compares each measured group with the applicable width/depth limits you enter from the label. One out-of-range group holds all sealant and rod purchase lines while retaining the measurement schedule. Add backer rod only where the selected instructions call for it, using its confirmed diameter and package length; the tool does not choose a diameter or diagnose a crack.
Sika’s Sikaflex+ application reference illustrates why product/application conditions matter. Consult the specific current product instructions before selecting any values. Use the slab planner for the bulk concrete project; this separate resource calculates consumables for your already chosen joint application.

Method and limits
Cartridges follow measured joint groups and the selected product’s prescribed profile or documented linear coverage. Backer rod is entered, not chosen automatically.
Volume basis or documented linear coverage
For up to 40 groups enter length, width, depth and profile factor. A rectangular section has factor one; another factor needs the selected product’s supporting record. Volume in millilitres is length × width × depth × profile factor ÷ 1,000 when dimensions are in millimetres. The volume basis divides that result by cartridge millilitres; the documented-linear basis instead divides group length by exact stated coverage per cartridge.
Equivalent cartridges are summed across groups before sealant reserve and a single whole-cartridge rounding. Displayed geometric volume remains available even when the purchase uses documented linear coverage.
Rod diameter is the user’s documented selection. Each rod group uses its length, rod reserve and package length, rounded up separately. If any group falls outside the selected sealant’s entered minimum/maximum width or depth, all sealant and rod purchases are held; a partial accepted order is not silently recommended.
The joint prescription comes first
Attach the exact product/model, labeled cartridge content, coverage/profile instructions and checked dimensional limits. The calculator does not diagnose a crack, choose bond-breaker geometry, determine joint movement, select rod diameter or approve a structural repair.
