Record doorway and ramp measurements, manufacturer limits and equipment underside profiles to compare fit and sampled transition interference.
One measured entry and equipment record

What this worksheet covers
Record the doorway, ground/ramp/threshold profile and equipment underside in one datum, compare width and available run, then inspect sampled rigid equipment poses for measured interference and unmeasured areas.
Measured fit flags only. No equipment-operation, ramp capacity/traction/attachment, structural or accessibility certification. Sampling cannot prove collision-free movement; missing measurements remain unresolved.
Import a saved measurement
Select a source, then an existing field with the same measurement unit. Add region or station rows first when needed. Confirm physical meaning and datum; importing a number does not approve a design or replace the rest of the required measurements.
Enter the measured layout and selected product information, then calculate. Exact schedules and a drawing appear here.
Measure the entire transition and equipment envelope
Record the clear doorway width/height, approach, ramp toe/top, actual threshold transition and floor in one datum. Extend the measured path beyond the movement interval to include equipment overhangs. Enter the largest equipment projections, wheel-track centre spacing, tire width, rigid wheel-contact baseline and a measured underside profile from rear overhang to front overhang.
The fictitious example has a 5 ft horizontal ramp run and 1 ft rise, approximately 11.31 degrees. It compares a 4 ft wheelbase and measured underside points at 2 in movement samples. Those dimensions do not recommend a ramp angle, structural capacity or equipment operating limit.
Read an interference flag as a measurement check
For each sampled rear contact, the model solves the rotated rigid wheelbase against the piecewise-linear measured surface. It checks the transformed underside segments at measured surface breaks, then reports the smallest clearance and uncertainty margin. A profile outside the measured path remains incomplete. Between-pose motion, tire/suspension effects, unequal wheel radii, yaw and dynamic overhead clearance are unverified; an empty collision count cannot certify safe movement.
Manufacturer operation, ramp load/traction/attachment and accessibility requirements remain separate. The shed foundation chooser handles selected support quantities, and the shed site-grade worksheet records ground measurements. This entry resource does not duplicate either workflow. Tuff Shed’s site-preparation reference provides context for checking an actual shed site.

Method and limits
A sampled equipment profile check across a measured entry route. Static doorway fit, ramp fit, operating-angle limits and underside interference answer different questions.
Doorway and selected ramp
Enter clear doorway width/height; equipment overall width/height, wheelbase, track, tire width and underside points; route station/elevation profile; toe/top stations, available run and ramp width; measurement uncertainty; and the exact equipment operating-angle source. Overall width plus twice uncertainty must fit the door; static height plus uncertainty must fit its height. Track plus tire width plus twice uncertainty must fit the ramp. Toe/top must be measured within the route, and selected horizontal run must fit available ground.
ramp angle = atan2(top elevation − toe elevation, horizontal run)
Contacts and underside clearance
The route is piecewise linear. The selected movement interval is sampled at the entered step, with at most 2,000 poses and a bounded total workload. At each rear-contact position the model solves a front-contact pose consistent with wheelbase, rotates the supplied underside points, and compares them with route segments and intervening vertices. Minimum clearance subtracts entered uncertainty. Missing contacts or unmeasured terrain remain unresolved; a sampled clear result is not a continuous no-contact guarantee.
The selected ramp angle and the greatest route segment angle are compared with the entered source limit. Door height is a static envelope check, not a rotated three-dimensional passage simulation.
No ramp construction order
There is no stock quantity, package rounding or waste allowance. Source records document the selected equipment and angle conditions. The tool does not specify ramp structure, traction, braking, turning, stability, load capacity or safe operation; dynamic equipment movement and wheel deformation are excluded.
Arithmetic checked against the current calculation source on 1 October 2026. Product instructions remain the exact records entered in this worksheet; recording a source is not external approval.
